Design brief
The design begins with a clear response to the site’s defining condition: the uninterrupted view. By placing all internal circulation along parallel axes on the street side, to the southwest, the entire northeast façade is left open toward the landscape.
Positioned on a sloped terrain in Nicosia, the house extends this relationship even further, offering views toward the Pentadaktylos Mountains from every level, including the basement. An infinity‑edge pool reinforces this continuity, drawing the eye outward and merging the architecture with the horizon.
The structure combines reinforced concrete and steel. The basement and ground floor are formed in fair‑faced concrete, anchoring the building to the terrain with a solid, tactile presence. Above this, the first floor is constructed as a lightweight metal structure with dry‑wall partitions, creating a more flexible and open framework.
