Design brief
The design seeks to unify the site’s distinct layers—the upper terrace of social and cultural activity, the lower level dedicated to rural musical heritage, and the church forecourt that anchors the main access point between them.
The goal is to create a place of free movement and open choice, where visitors can navigate the “Center” according to their interests, intentions, or simple curiosity, without a prescribed route.
The project embraces the idea that each destination—the Museum, the Tavern, the Church, or the surrounding landscape—may serve as an entry point. The architecture therefore prioritizes openness, flexibility, and a welcoming atmosphere.
A continuous band of trees encircling the hill, once perceived as a barrier separating the two levels, is reinterpreted as a design asset. By integrating this planted zone into the outdoor experience, it becomes a shaded, active landscape element that supports and enriches the Museum’s exterior spaces.
